Schram and Davidson say they
mutually hatched the Aspen meet-
ing idea. Hadassah officials helped
carry it out with invitations to phi-
lanthropists from around the world,
most of them Hadassah members; 65
assembled at the Aspen Ranch for a
kosher buffet dinner.
People came from Israel, England,
Switzerland, Panama, Argentina,
Venezuela, California, Florida,
Missouri, Michigan and the Aspen
community. On hand was national
Hadassah President Nancy Falchuk
of Massachusetts.
Among local attendees were Judi
and Brad Schram, Heather and David
Katzman and Darryl and Dr. Shari
Rogers of Franklin, and Michelle and
Linden Nelson of Bloomfield Hills.
Several members of the Davidson
family also attended.
"I was thrilled to be able to
bring these many philanthropists
together at my home said Davidson.
"Hadassah is a wonderful organiza-
tion and the tower is an exciting
project. It will provide the best medi-

Volunteers Spread Hope
On Monday, Sept. 13, B'nai B'rith vol-
unteers plan to deliver 25 "Break the
Fast" food packages to Jewish Family
Service of Metropolitan Detroit as
part of Project HOPE (Helping Our
People Everywhere), a B'nai B'rith
International project.
With so many Jewish families unable
to afford special holiday foods, volun-
teers have been soliciting food mer-
chants in the community and collect-
ing donations with the goal of assisting
25 less-fortunate Jewish families.
To help, call B'nai B'rith, (248) 646-

cal care and biomedical research for
everyone in the Mideast:'
A special guest was Davidson's
good friend, Dalia Itzik of Israel's
Kadima Party and a current Knesset
member. "We are surrounded here
by the beautiful Aspen Mountains,
but our imaginations look east to
the glorious Judaen Hills where the
Sarah Wetsman Davdison Tower
will stand as a tribute to the work
of Hadassah," she told the dinner
guests.
Two other speakers were Professor
Shlomo Mor-Yosef, director general
of Hadassah Medical Center, which
has two hospital campuses, and
Professor Chaim Lotan, director
of the Heart Institute at Hadassah
University Hospital. "The Sarah
Wetsman Davidson Tower is the
mission of our generation:' declared
Mor-Yosef. "With our passion, our
commitment, our professionalism
and tzedakah (charity), our love
and our dedication to tikkun olam
(repairing the world), we will com-
plete the task:'
Did Davidson take extra security
precautions at the ranch because of
the nature of the meeting? "No," she
replied. "With all the Israeli people
there, I figured they would know how
to handle the situation:'
Davidson and Schram say they
can't tell yet exactly how much
money was raised at the dinner for
the tower project. "Many people said
they will decide their commitments
soon," Schram said. "Others said they
want to visit Israel and see the tower
before they make a contribution.
"But while we all sat in a transpar-
ent tent after dinner, it rained lightly,
then a beautiful big rainbow came
out against the mountain sky. It was
a good omen for Hadassah and the
tower:'
