BERNARD S.
KRAUSE, 89, a res-
ident of California
for 25 years, died
July 20, 2010.
He was the
owner of Dix Scrap
Metal in Detroit
Krause
for 40 years. He
was also a World
War II Army vet-
eran, who served in the Pacific and
earned a Purple Heart, four Bronze
Medals and a Ribbon of Valor. Mr.
Krause was a founding member of
Temple Israel, an avid golfer and
bowler.
He is survived by his son, Charles
Krause of New York and his partner,
George Cabell; daughter and son-
in-law, Laura and Phil Garelik of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Jaime and Eric Grodsky and Jessica
Garelik.
Mr. Krause was the beloved hus-
band of the late Hermine "Cookie"
Krause.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made
