Road Show

Local artist Marla Karimipour will have a one-woman show of paintings June 25-July 31 at Paint Creek Center for the
Arts, 407 Pine Street, Rochester, with an opening reception from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 25.

"Landscapes" showcases paintings inspired by photographs taken from a moving vehicle. The images are then

interpreted in oil paint as the artist investigates the fleeting moment of the snapshot.

"While I paint, I lose myself in the scene and imagine I am actually living in that house, working that farm, occupying

that space," Karimipour says. "Sometimes I become so lost that I can actually feel the sun on my face, the wind on my

neck, hear the rustling of the trees and smell the dirt and the green of the fields."

Karimipour lives in Birmingham and is the daughter of the late Bloomfield Hills businessman and philanthropist

William Davidson. She has had no formal painting instruction and has been painting seriously for 12 years. Her work has
