"Landscapes" showcases paintings inspired by photographs taken from a moving vehicle. The images are then interpreted in oil paint as the artist investigates the fleeting moment of the snapshot. "While I paint, I lose myself in the scene and imagine I am actually living in that house, working that farm, occupying that space," Karimipour says. "Sometimes I become so lost that I can actually feel the sun on my face, the wind on my neck, hear the rustling of the trees and smell the dirt and the green of the fields." Karimipour lives in Birmingham and is the daughter of the late Bloomfield Hills businessman and philanthropist William Davidson.
