Schools Foundation
named Robert A.
Stone its president.
The foundation
was created in 2009
to raise funds for
Bloomfield Hills
Stone
Schools amid
budget cuts and
drops in state funding, to ensure
students receive the same qual-
ity education standard that has
existed in Bloomfield Hills over the
years. Stone, a partner and senior
adviser at Telemus Capital Partners
in Southfield, is leading a $40 million
capital campaign for the district.

Robin Tobin of
Farmington Hills
was named Berkley
School District's
Outstanding
Elementary Teacher
of the Year. Tobin
has been a teacher
Tobin
in the district for
26 years. She was
named a Diversity Champion by
the Birmingham/Bloomfield Race
Relations & Diversity Task Force,
received awards from the Michigan
Education Association for her video
production curriculum and currently
serves on the board of Southfield-
based Kadima.

Sari Marissa
Saperstein of West
Bloomfield, daughter
of Brenda Oventhal
Saperstein and Dr.
Harvey Saperstein,
recently graduated
with high honors
Saperstein
from the Honors
College of Michigan
State University in special education.
She will be student teaching in Walled
Lake and working toward a master's
degree in learning disabilities. She
received a Phyllis S. Pietka Endowed
Scholarship in Special Education at
Michigan State University in April.

Allie Fishman of Bloomfield Hills, a
2002 graduate of Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills and a senior film major with a
concentration in computer anima-
tion at Columbia College in Chicago,
was part of a team of two named one
of six finalists among 170 entrants
in Walt Disney Imagineering's 19th
ImagiNations design competition

held in June in Glendale, Calif. Allie
and teammate Laura Whitbeck of
Northville, a recent University of
Michigan graduate, designed a new
resort for Walt Disney World in
Orlando. Their concept is a complete
and highly interac-
tive resort. They
formally presented
their project to
Disney execu-
tives and toured
Disney facilities in
California. The girls
met
