Open House
Tour Hillel's Early
Childhood Center.
A
s parents gear up for fall
preschool enrollment,
Hillel Day School of Metro
Detroit will introduce its first Early
Childhood Center (ECC) at a commu-
nity open house 7-9 p.m. Thursday,
June 3.
Center director Robin Pappas says
the Farmington Hills school, 32200
Middlebelt, has combined the best of
Hind's core K-8 academic values and
tailored them to create a nurturing,
interactive preschool curriculum.
The Hillel Day School ECC is in
cooperation with Oakland County
Congregations Shaarey Zedek and
Beth Ahm.
The creative programming includes
half-day and full-day sessions; after-
noon enrichment for full-day stu-
dents; a comprehensive curriculum
tailored to each child's needs; Hebrew
learning, holiday celebrations; a
Mitzvah Malka Program; a weekly
Shabbat program in the Beit Knesset;
early and aftercare available daily;
SMARTboards in every classroom.
There is an affiliate discounted tuition
rate for members of a synagogue.
Age Appropriate Hebrew
"Our new Early Childhood Center
reflects the same dedication to stu-
dents and the Jewish community as
the elementary and middle school,
but we've created a really unique
environment specifically for 2-, S-
and 4-year-old children:' said Pappas.
"Our age-appropriate Hebrew pro-
gram teaches the language through
audio-centric learning, which is per-
fect for kids in this age group.
"There's a focus on fun while
building a strong foundation for
higher level learning:' she added.
"The early childhood years are the
foundation of your child's learning:'
said Steve Freedman, head of school
at Hillel Day School. "Hillel looks for-
ward to being part of that foundation.
"We can work together to make
sure it's a great experience, and this
open house is an excellent opportu-
nity to demonstrate many of the ways
we plan to do that."
The kindergarten tuition fees for
the 2010-2011 school year have been
substantially reduced, Freedman said.

ule an appointment by contacting
