The Detroit Medical Center has been
a partner in Project Chessed since its
establishment five years ago by the
Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan
Detroit. Through a network of more
than 500 local physicians, other health
care providers and hospitals who donate
their services, Project Chessed provides
no-cost health care to uninsured Jewish
adults in Metro Detroit.
After determination of financial eli-
gibility by a Chessed care coordinator,
individuals are referred to appropriate
health care providers for a comprehen-
sive range of services.
At the April 29 program, Lynn
Torossian, president of DMC Huron
Valley-Sinai Hospital, provided an
overview of the program and Rachel
Yoskowitz, Project Chessed director,
described volunteer opportunities. El
