ROBERT L. AUSLANDER, 62, of
Southfield, died April 5, 2010.
He was a pharmacy technician, special-
izing in pharmacy services.
Mr. Auslander is survived by his wife,
Carole Auslander; daughters, Michelle
Auslander of Southfield, Beth Auslander;
son, Daniel Auslander; sister and brother-
in-law, Adrienne and Richard Munich;
father-in-law, Allan Cohen; brothers-in-
law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Helene
Cohen, Dr. Didi Cohen and Richard Colton;
nieces, nephews and friends.
He was the beloved son of the late
Mildred and the late Irving Auslander; the
loving brother of the late Myra Auslander;
the dear son-in-law of the late Laura
Cohen; the dear brother-in-law of the late
Gary Cohen.
Interment at Beth Tefilo Emanuel
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to

VIOLET BAYER, 90, of Birmingham, died
April 5, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Fran and Dr. Sidney Broder of
Birmingham; grandson, Zachary Broder;
nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Bayer was the beloved wife of the
late Harry Bayer; the loving mother of
the late Howard Bayer; and the dear sister
of the late Morris Werney, the late Sam
Werney, the late Rose Perlman, the late
Bess Mills, the late Elaine Barbas and the
late Ida Kramer.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

OSCAR GENSER, 90, of
Oak Park, died April 7,
2010.
He was a building
developer and owner of D
& H Builders. He was also
on the city of Oak Park's
Planning Commission
Genser
and Zoning Board of
Appeals for 40 years.
Mr. Genser is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Don and Jane Genser
of Milford, Howard and Susan Genser of
Highland; grandchildren, Benjamin and
Holly Genser; great-granddaughter, Bella
Rose Genser; nieces and nephews, Leslie
Sarver, Sydney Pittman, Mark Pittman,
Asa and Julia Sarver, Josh and Miriel
Pittman, Joel Pittman, Albert and Ann
Mellen, Lila Reder and Rosita Rabin and
sister-in-law, Mary Genser.
He is also survived by Susan Genser's
children and grandchildren and a warm

Shannon and Heather.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Lillian Genser and the loving brother of
the late Julius Genser and the late Philip

DAVID HALEM, 87, of California, died
April 10, 2010.
David was born in Bacau, Romania, on
March 28, 1923. His wife, Lila, preceded him
in death; the two are formerly of Detroit.
David is survived by three children,
Michael, Gail, and Sheldon; six grandchil-
dren, four great-grandchildren and one
brother, Edward.

MAE T. SHUBOW HENKIN, 89, of
Sarasota, Fla., died March 23, 2010.
She was a retail clothing executive and
former owner of Belle Jacob on Livernois
in Detroit.
Mrs. Henkin is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Lynn Blakeslee
of Saginaw, Gail and Charles Geer of
Newaygo, Mich., Elizabeth and Larry Hintz
of Illinois, Eileen Jacob of Florida; grand-
children, Jan Dijkers, Sander and Gloria
Dijkers, Ben Blakeslee and Samantha
Hintz; seven great-grandchildren; sister,
Helen "Hikie" Jacobs of West Bloomfield;
brother-in-law, Bert Gladstone.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Oscar Schwartz, the late Morris Jacob and
the late Dr. William Henkin.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

of East Lansing; sister, Evelyn Feigenson
of Detroit; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brook)

Holzman-Lipsitz; great-grandchildren,
Mathew, Brady and Kodi. Also survived by
many other loving family members and
friends.
Interment was held at Machpelah

IDEL IZRAELEWICZ, 88, of Bloomfield
Hills, died April 3, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Anna
Izraelewicz; son and daughter-in-law,
Garry and Schar Izraelewicz of Auburn
Hills; daughters and sons-in-law, Bela and
Benjamin Greenbaum of Bloomfield Hills,
Anne and Peter Goldberg of Bloomfield
Hills; brother, Kalman Izraelewicz of
Florida; sister, Esther Szuchmacher of
Florida; nine grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; loving nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Izraelewicz was the beloved hus-
band of the late Luba. Contributions may

ROSE KAUFMAN, 87,
of Commerce Township,
died April 2, 2010, of
natural causes.
Rose's motherly
warmth and wisdom
live on in daughter
Karen McFall (Thomas)
Kaufman
and son Matthew
Kaufman (Kimberley).
She was the mother of the late Lewis
Aaron Kaufman.
Rose's tenacious life spirit fuels her
grandchildren, Nikolai and Ashley Sears
and Cecilia Kaufman. Loving sister
Louise Applebaum has lifelong memories
of Rosie.
Rose was the sister of the late Pauline
Spayer. Her devoted former husband Jack
Kaufman and dear friend Mary Lewis
hold her dear as well.
A memorial service and interment
of ashes took place at the Birmingham
Temple. Contributions to Vitas Hospice
at vitascharityfund.org or to charities of
one's choosing are appreciated. Family
was everything to Rose Kaufman.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late
Herman Koltonow; daughter of the late
Joseph and the late Rose Kasmer and
stepdaughter of the late Rita Kasmer;
sister of the late Harry Kasmer, the late
Fannie Bruner, the late Alex Kasmer, the
late Eddie Kasmer and the late Doris
Fisher.

BERTHA LEPSETZ, 90, of Southfield,
