derived from plant fibers, maltitol is a
low-calorie sweetener safe for diabetics
due to its slow absorption in the body.
May cause digestive upset.

occurring, mildly sweet, indigestible
carbohydrates. FOS cannot be broken
down by the human digestive system, but
they can be broken down to feed healthy
bacteria in the digestive tract. (e.g., Just

artificial sweetener combining dextrose

Linked to decreased thymus activity in
mice. No long-term safety data was found
before its release to market.
As you can see, there are plenty of
healthier options to choose from if we
want to change our collective diet and
our collective health. As long as we lean
on sweeteners with lower absorption
rates, and combine sweets with protein
fat or fiber, we will succeed in reversing
the dangerous trend of diabetes for our-
selves and for our children. IL
