DR. J. BERNARD "BARNEY"
ROBERTS, 83, of West Bloomfield, died
March 22, 2010.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Lori and David Liner of West
Bloomfield, Barbara and Steven Scherr of
Huntington Woods; sister and brother-in-
law, Shirley and Sol Kleiman of Las Vegas;
grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Liner;
also survived by many loving nieces and
nephews.
Barney was the beloved husband of the
late Dorothy Roberts and brother of the late
Sylvia Kessler.
Interment was held at Machpelah
Cemetery in Ferndale. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

LEON SCHNEIDER, 90,
of Oak Park, died Jan. 10,
2010.
Born in Poland, he
survived the Holocaust.
In the postwar years, he
UST
lived in Germany, Israel
and Canada before mov-
ing to Oak Park in 1958. He was a talented

mechanical engineer who had a small man-
ufacturing business for 30 years. He was an
avid photographer, a lifelong chess enthusi-
ast and an ardent supporter of Israel.
For most of the past 10 years he was a
participant in many programs at the JCC in
Oak Park. When he moved to the Chicago
area in March 2009, he left behind many
dear friends whom he missed greatly.
He is survived by his children, Karen
and Jeffrey Schneider; grandchildren,
Alexandra, Eli and Natalie Mogul.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Irene Schneider.
Internment in Illinois. Contributions may
be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation
for Parkinson's Research.

ROBERT F. SCHWARTZ, 53, of Redford
Township, died March 25, 2010. He was the
owner of Midland Auto Parts.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by his daughter,
Corey Schwartz of Detroit; mother, Phyllis
Schwartz and sisters and brothers-in-law,
Beth and Howard Zoller and Dina and
Jeffrey Shiffman of Farmington Hills.
He was the beloved son of the late Gilbert
"Gibby" Schwartz.

Contributions may be directed to a char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

HERMAN J. UTCHENIK, 88, of
Farmington Hills, died March 22, 2010.
He was a retail shoe salesman and
musician. Also, he was a two-time past
Worshipful Master of the Berkley Masonic
Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rite
32nd Degree.
Mr. Utchenik is survived by his wife,
Shirley Utchenik; sister, Charlotte Jonap of
Livonia; nieces, nephews and friends.
He was the loving father of the late Vicki
Lynn Utchenik.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

ALBERT ZIFF, 92, of Southfield, died
March 27, 2010.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Geraldine Ziff; son and daughter-in-law,
Stephen and Marjie Ziff of Franklin;

of Paradise Valley, Ariz.;
brother, Sam Ziff of
Orlando, Fla.; sister-in-
law, Ellen Ziff; brother-
in-law, George Warren;

Ziff and Lisa Ziff, Julie Cykiert and Stuart
Cykiert, Michael (Sandy) Lippitt, Richard
(Elizabeth) Llppitt, Ronald (Denise) Lippitt,
Ken (Jennifer) Lentin, Larry (Amy) Lentin,
Betsy (Mike) Wicklund. Also survived by
17 great-grandchildren, his devoted care-
giver, Donna Washington, and many loving
nieces, nephews, other family members and
friends.
Albert was the dear brother of the late
Hylan Ziff, the late Pat (the late Eli) Yaphe,
and the late Larry Ziff.
Interment was held at the Hebrew
Memorial Park in Mt. Clemens.
Contributions may be made to the Ziff
Memorial Wall at Temple Shir Shalom, to
Temple Kol Ami in Scottsdale, Ariz., or to
