Answering
Israel's Critics

The Charge
In a visit to the Middle East this
month, Brazilian President Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva criticized Israel's
West Bank separation barrier.

The Answer
Israel's separation barrier is a
temporary, non-violent response to
the Palestinian suicide bombers who
terrorized Israelis in the early 2000s.
It can be removed if peace is reached.
