Family Problems Series The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit's Seminars for Adult Jewish Enrichment will host the series "So You Think YOUR Family Has Problems!" noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning April 13. The eight-week program, facilitated by Ruth Bergman, will focus on families in the Torah and consider what their experiences can teach us today. Learning About Wiesel Adat Shalom Synagogue hosts a four-part lunch-and-learn titled 'A Celebration of Elie Wieser Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz will present the series noon to 1:15 p.m. Thursdays, April 8, 15, 22 and 29. Yoskowitz will discuss Wiesel's attempts to make the world better through his deeds and writings. Cantors' Concert Congregation B'nai Moshe in West Bloomfield will host a Celebration Concert honoring the cantorial ordina- tion of Zachary Mondrow at the Jewish Theological Seminary (New York). The concert is 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6. Master of ceremonies will be Cantor Earl G. Berris of B'nai Moshe. Guest performer will be Cantor Alberto Mizrahi of Anshe Emet Synagogue, Chicago. HMD Elects 3 To Board Hillel of Metro Detroit has elected three new members to its Board of Governors. Commencing April 1, Robyn Lederman, Steve Schanes and WSU student Alyssa McMillan will join the board, which oversees Jewish student life on six Metro Detroit college campuses. Stephanie Adas, Lavie Golenberg, Gail Langer, Brad Wasserman and Jeannie Weiner were re-elected to serve additional two-year terms. Longtime board members Ethan Gilan and Harry Shafer have completed their terms and will serve on the advisory council. Linda Zlotoff will continue as board president until April 2011. Elaine C. Driker was elected president-elect. Answering Israel's Critics The Charge In a visit to the Middle East this month, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva criticized Israel's West Bank separation barrier. The Answer Israel's separation barrier is a temporary, non-violent response to the Palestinian suicide bombers who terrorized Israelis in the early 2000s.
