(With thanks to www.ameinu.net )

It is with great sadness that Ameinu shares the following news:

Saadia, his wife Helen and their three children emigrated to Israel in 1947, just months
before the States official founding. He dedicated his life to righting social ills as both a
trained rabbi and social worker.

More roles for him were youth leader, fundraiser, labor organizer, tractor driver, fisherman,
garbage collector, kibbutz general secretary, treasurer, movement comptroller and hotel
manager. What Saadia rarely mentioned was working closely with leaders of Israel,
including David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin.

Saadia never backed down from the challenges of
creating a better Israel. His inspiring memoir,
