maintained his trademark selflessness,
humility and ingenious wit, no matter

Mr. Rosenfeld will be forever remem-
bered by his beloved wife of over 51
years, Ruth (Solomon) Rosenfeld; devot-
ed children, Barry and Randy Rosenfeld,
Nancy and Bruce Barber, and Jennifer
and Mitchell Bass; treasured grandchil-
dren, Amy and Jill Rosenfeld, and Millie
Bass; countless other family members
and friends, all of whom were a delight
to him.
He was the son of the late Max and
the late Fannie Rosenfeld; the brother of
the late Lenore Schiff.

of Walnut Creek, Calif., died Dec. 26, 2009.
She was born April 11, 1935. A 32-year
resident of Contra Costa County, she lived
in Lafayette for 22 years and in Rossmoor
for the past 10 years. She was a member of
Temple Isaiah in Lafayette.
Mrs. Leibson is survived by her hus-
band of 40 years, Edward; daughters,
Carrie Ann, Susan and Joanne; step-
daughters, Andrea, Sherry and Karen; 13
grandchildren; brother, Robert Wine of
Farmington Hills.
A private memorial service was held.

of Portland, Ore., died
peacefully at his home

He was born in
Wengrow, Poland, to
Israel and Rivka Palma. He was the young-
est of five children. He worked as an opti-
cian in Warsaw until the start of World
War II. He withstood the atrocities of war
in Europe, narrowly escaping the Nazis by
various means, determination and luck.
Only Mr. Palma and his sister, Bella
Rothstein, survived; she emigrated to
Argentina. He received Diploma #606
from ORT in Germany May 23, 1947, as a
toolmaker.
Mr. Palma arrived in Louisville, Ky., in
1950 and then moved to Detroit a year
later. In 1954, he met his future wife, Bella,
