Kol Ami Seeks New Members
Temple Kol Ami in West Bloomfield will
offer new members, joining between
now and Oct. 16, a complimentary one-
year membership.
New members will receive one year
of free religious school for preschool-
and kindergarten-age children. Temple
Kol Ami will continue its New Member
Ambassadors program to add a personal
component to the process of welcoming
new TKA members. For information,

Gan Shalom Prepares Kids
Gan Shalom Preschool in Oak Park will
offer a bilingual Hebrew/English cur-
riculum appropriate to prepare a child
for kindergarten and first grade.
Susan Gartenberg of Bloomfield Hills
is director of Gan Shalom Parenting
Center and Preschool and the lead
instructor of the Kinderlst Ready. The
Gan team consists of Leslie Fishman
of Bloomfield Hills, Ronit Goutkovich
of Royal Oak, Susie Katkowsky of
Huntington Woods, Nomi Rottenstein of
Southfield and Trish Canner and Pnina
Hagiz of West Bloomfield.
Afternoon enrichments will consist
of Zoophonics,"trips" to Israel, parshah
and creative movement. The after-
noon team consists of Judy Caden of
Farmington Hills, Zoya Rice of Oak Park,
Erika Finn of West Bloomfield and Anne
Rostker of West Bloomfield.
Kinder 1st Ready runs each weekday, 9
a.m.-12:30 p.m., with lunch included. It is
open to children who will attend kinder-
garten or first grade in the fall of 2010.
Extended hours are: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Beth Ahm Sermon Series
Congregation Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield is in the midst of its second
annual Shabbat morning summer ser-
mon series, featuring words of Torah by
congregants.
Next speaker in the
series will be Paul
Darmon on Aug. 8.
