Gift Aids Sinai

DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital
has received a $200,000 chari-

table gift from the Aaron and Helen

DeRoy Testamentary Foundation,
based in Southfield.

The funds were used to expand

and enhance clinical facilities for
patients having cardiac catheteriza-

tions, radiology and other special

procedures. The DeRoy Foundation
gift also provided new cardiac moni-
tors and nurses' workstations for

this special procedures area.
Facility expansion was needed

because of the hospital's successful

emergency angioplasty program for
cardiac patients; the program began
a year ago. The number of proce-

dures has exceeded projections
and additional space was required

to monitor the growing volume of

patients. Huron Valley-Sinai is the
only hospital in western Oakland
County that performs this procedure.

in March. It is the third hospital in
southeast Michigan and the only

one in western Oakland County to
provide this treatment.

A previous DeRoy Testamentary

expand the hospital's Radiology
Department, including its online
filmless imaging system.
