The first-place Akiva Readers
included Alexander Fischer, Yirmi
Goldman, Jason Jubas, Yoni Katz,
Josh Kornblum and Jordy Weil. The
team captains were Yehudit Jubas
and Karoline Puder.
The first-place Leader Readers
of Akiva included Moshe Barash,
Nathan Klausner, David Kresch,
Elisheva Phillips, Sarah Rubin and
Mikey Stebbins. The team captains
were Renee Phillips and Helene
Rubin.
The Reading Reptiles of Akiva
placed fourth in the fifth-grade
Battle held Jan. 30. The team
included Ben Sider, Eli Sider, Jack
Lebenbom, Solomon Kahn, Ziv
Brodie and David Warshay. They
were coached by Michelle Sider and
Marci Lebenbom.
The Word Wonders of Yeshiva
Beth Yehudah placed second in the
middle-school battle held Jan. 21.
The team included Elchonon Batt,
Yossi Silverstein, Eitan Sosne, Meir
Weingarden, Shimon Mayerfeld and
Yoni Weisberg. They were coached
by Anita and Yitz Batt.
The Amazing Readers of Bais
Yaakov, the girls' division of Yeshiva
Beth Yehudah, placed third in the
middle-school battle. The team
included Shira Parshan, Kayla
Mayerfeld, Ghana Kellman, Batya
Cohen, Becca Blavin and Leah
Lowenberg. They were coached by
Lisa Parshan and Jayne Cohen.
