Brad is a seventh-grade student
at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. For one
of his many mitzvah projects, he
volunteered in the Beth Hayeled class-
rooms during High Holiday services at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield.

Madison Lena
Pazner, daughter
of Anita and Bruce
Pazner, will read from
the Torah Saturday,
Jan. 31, at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield during
Pazner
Havdalah services.
She is the sister of Jake, Remy and
Spencer. Sharing in the joy of the bat
mitzvah will be her proud grandmother
Phyllis Pazner.
Madison is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. She
felt working for the Matthew Bittker
Foundation was her most meaningful
mitzvah project.

Jalen Raines, son of
Jodee and Roy Raines,
will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Jan. 31,
at Temple Emanu-El
in Oak Park. He is the
grandson of Nat and
Raines
Lois Fishman and the
brother of Zoe Raines.
Jalen is a seventh-grade student at
Norup International School in Oak
Park. His primary mitzvah project was
to help the environment by recycling T-
shirts into re-usable shopping bags.

Alec Jay Shapiro
(Chaim Hershel) will
lead the congrega-
tion at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield
Friday, Jan. 30, as he
reads from the Torah
on the occasion of his
Shapiro
bar mitzvah. He is the
son of Sharon and Bruce Shapiro and
the brother of Sam and Randee. Sharing

He is also the grandchild of the late Lilly

Alec attends Warner Middle School
in Farmington Hills. Among his wide
variety of mitzvah projects, he felt
donating funds to the Israeli Defense
Fund was the most meaningful.

Bloomfield. Proudly

joining Shane on the

Shane is a seventh-grade student at
Abbott Middle School in West Bloomfield.
He has been volunteering at Yad Ezra
Kosher Food Pantry in Berkley for his

Israel Gap Year Fair

The Israel Gap Year Program Fair,
sponsored by MASA and hosted by the
Frankel Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11,
6:30-8:30 p.m., at the academy, 6600 W.
Maple, West Bloomfield.
