etta and Arthur Toffler of Clinton
Township met and married in
Utica, N.Y., in 1937. On Jan. 24,
they will celebrate with their family 72 years
of marriage. They are surrounded by loving
sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and
four beautiful great-granddaughters. They
have set a wonderful example to family and
friends about what is really important in life
— loving one another and showing it on a
daily basis.

Ruben-Wiener

tefani Wiener and Shalom Ruben
were married at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. Rabbi Paul Yedwab
and Stephanie Michaels officiated.
Stefani is the daughter of Suzi and David
Wiener. Shalom is the son of Kenneth Ruben
and Deborah Ruth.
Michele Wiener, sister of the bride, was
maid of honor. Dayna Borteck, friend of the
bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Hilary Greenberg and Nicole
Muchnick, cousins of the bride, Lysee Kaye
and Natalie Garfield, friends of the bride.
Eric Rubio was the best man. Groomsmen
were Mendel, Avi and Eli Ruben and Mattan Harel, brothers of the groom. Ring
bearers were Ethan and Ayden Ruben, nephews of the groom. The flower girl
was Elyse Ruben, niece of the groom.
Stefani and Shalom were delighted to have grandma Pola Wiener participate
in the wedding. Stefani is also the granddaughter of the late Harry and the late
Peggy Miller and the late Max Wiener. Shalom is the grandson of the late Marvin
and the late Nina Ruben.
Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple reside in Los Angeles.

arbara and Joel Garrett of Oak
Park are happy to announce the
engagement of their son Darren
Blake Garrett, formerly of Chicago, now
living in Tel Aviv, Israel, to Jean Calvani,
daughter of David and Elisssa Calvani,
formerly of San Diego, Calif., now living in
Jerusalem.
Both Darren and Jean are doing volunteer
work bringing seriously ill children in need
of medical care from neighboring countries
to Israel.
A May 2009 wedding is planned in San
Diego.
