Farmington Hills, died Nov. 9, 2008.

Newman; many great-nieces and
great-nephews; close family friends,

Ms. Langwald was the dear sister
of the late Philip Langwald, the late
Rose Tomarin; dear aunt of the late
Shelby Langwald; dear sister-in-law
of the late Percy Newman, the late Hy
Tomarin, the late Gladys Langwald.

CHARLES "CHUCK" MAYER, 76 of
Commerce, died Nov. 7, 2008.
He graduated with a master's degree
from the University of Michigan and
was a successful manufacturer's rep-
resentative. He was a lifelong member
of Temple Beth El, where he served
on the board of trustees, was presi-
dent of its brotherhood, receiving the
prestigious Rosenbush award, was
a member of the temple's Ways and
Means Committee and chairman of
the Membership Committee.
He also served as a vice president
of the Jewish Historical Society of
Michigan and was a board member
of the Detroit Historical Society and
Museum.
Mr. Mayer is survived by his beloved
daughter, Kathryn Ruth Mayer of New
York; former wife, Gail Kash Mayer;
and cousins.
Interment at the Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by Dorfman Chapel.

GERTRUDE POWELL, 90, of West
Bloomfield, died Nov. 1, 2008.
She is survived by her sons and
daughter-in-law, Steven. Powell of
Pennsylvania, Larry and Michelle
Powell of Virginia; daughter and son-
in-law, Michele and Jim Podzikowski
of Ferndale; brother, George Rubin of
Huntington Woods; grandchildren,
Paul Podzikowski, Jamie Podzikowski,
Laura Podzikowski, Samantha Powell,
Becky Powell.
Mrs. Powell was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Sheldon Powell.

She is survived by her son, Gary
Sosnick of Detroit; loving nieces and
nephews.

the late Irving Sosnick; loving mother
of the late Marilyn Sosnick; dear sister
of the late Walter, the late Vickie, the
late Jessie.
