She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Henry and Rina Apel
of Hallandale, Fla., Adam and Angelia
Apel of Boca Raton, Fla.; daughter,
Rosalie Cole of Oak Park; six grandchil-
dren; six great-grandchildren.
Services and interment in Florida.

RUTH ASH, 89, died
Sept. 26, 2008.
Born in Windsor,
Ontario, She spent
most of her life in
Detroit. She was the
very first person to
originate a car bro-
kerage business in the
1940s. She was also an artist, poet, and
writer. Mrs. Ash was unique in every
way: talented, witty, articulate and wise.
She is survived by her daughter,
Rebecca Jerris (Clayton); son Hy Ash
(Ellen); grandchildren, Aaron Ash,
Brittany Ash, Bradley Jerris, Shayna
Weitz (Andrew), Annie McLennan
(Ryan); great-grandchildren, Benjamin
and Emily Jerris, Chloe, Cameryn,
and Carly Weitz, and Ashlyn and Elle
McLennan.

Mr. Beam was the loving son of the
late Paul Beam.

DR. JULIUS FELD, 87, of Winnetka,
Ill., died Oct. 11, 2008. He was a retired
dentist.
Dr. Feld is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Jim and Betsy Feld
of Illinois; daughter and son-in-law,
Deborah Feld Fabisiewicz and Rubem
Fabisiewicz of Massachusetts; grand-
children, Alex Feld, Emily Feld and
Raphael Fabisiewicz,; sister, Beatrice
Howard.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Eleanor Feld; dear brother of the
late Dr. David Feld and the late Annetta
Lipton.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one's choice.

MARVIN M.
GELLMAN, 79,
former Detroiter of
Coronado, Calif., died
Aug. 16, 2008, after a
brief illness.
He loved a good
laugh, good friends,
Gellman
a clean car and a
nice bottle of wine. He enjoyed sailing,
dancing, playing bridge and poker. An
Army veteran, he founded and built a
successful general contracting business,
Action Service Company, and later in
life worked in the clothing business. He
loved his dogs, Duffy and Scoobie.
Mr. Gellman is survived by his
beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Leslie and Robert
Sommers of Fallbrook, Calif; son and
daughter-in-law, Andrew and Nicole
Gellman of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren,
Jake and Brooke Gellman.
Contributions may be made to San
Diego Hospice. Funeral services were
private.

RALPH C. HOLBERG, age 94, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 10, 2008.
He was a manager in the retail
women's clothing business. Mr. Holberg
