were together — young, old, secu-
lar, religious, all of us, together.
When I think about what I
enjoyed most about the fair, my
answer is community, our commu-
nity. Instead of meeting individu-
ally in our various chosen groups,
whether it be at Mahjj, a board
meeting, a parent/child play group,
a study group, at synagogue, we
met together as one, as a commu-
nity, to celebrate Israel, to celebrate
Judaism, to celebrate life (all in
Jewish Metro Detroit).
