SUSAN ILENE MICHAEL, 62, of
Southfield, died July 25, 2008. She was
a bookkeeper.
Ms. Michael is survived by her
brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael
and Jacqueline Schwartz of Novi,
Richard and Susan Schwartz of West
Bloomfield; nephews, Jeffrey Schwartz,
Evan Schwartz, Dustin Schwartz.
She was the beloved daughter of
the late Leo and the late Beatrice
Schwartz; loving aunt of the late Jason
Schwartz.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

ARTHUR ABRAHAM PROG
(Avrohom Ber ben Yakov), 85, died
July 24, 2008.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, he was
raised in Detroit. He served during
World War II in the U.S. Army artillery
division in the European theater of
operations. After the war, in 1947, he
married Detroiter Josephine (Levin)
and raised his family in Oak Park. He
worked as a journeyman industrial
electrician with the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
Local Union #58.
The Progs retired to Boca Raton,
Fla., where they lived happily until
Mrs. Prog's sudden and untimely pass-
ing in 1985. Some years later, Mr. Prog
returned to Detroit to live with his
children.
He is survived by his daughter and
son-in-law, Susan and Dr. Robert
Tawil of Southfield; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Stewart and Lisa Prog of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Raffi
and Chayala Tawil, Yeshiah Tawil, Yosef
Chaim Tawil, Yehudis Tawil, Nechama
Tawil, Baruch Tawil, Alex Prog, Emily
Prog and Jonathan Prog.
He was the father of the late
Marshall Prog; son of the late Jacob
and the late Bessie Prog; brother of the
late Becky (Meyers), the late Max and
the late Seymour.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the
Kollel Institute of Greater Detroit,
15230 Lincoln, Oak Park, MI 48237;
Machon L'Torah, 15221 W. 10 Mile,
Oak Park, MI 48237; or the Juvenile

EDITH RIVKIN, 100, of Southfield,
died July 24, 2008.
She was a stenographer and payroll

clerk at Cadillac Electric. She was also
a member of Temple Beth El, Adat
Shalom Synagogue and a very active
bridge player.
Mrs. Rivkin is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Carole and
Irwin Price of New Jersey; 13 grand-
children; 11 great-grandchildren;
sister, Gertrude Gray; nieces and
nephews.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Malcolm Rivkin; loving mother of the
late Dr. Frederic Rivkin and the late Dr.
Marvin Rivkin.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

GERALDINE "GERRY" SCHREIER,
77, of Beverly Hills, died July 25, 2008.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, David and Marea
Schreier of New York City, Joel
and Debbie Schreier of Glencoe,
Ill.; daughters, Naomi Schreier of
Birmingham, Alisa Schreier and Judah
Rose of Washington, D.C.; brother-
in-law and sister-in-law, Bernie and
Flo Schreier; grandchildren, Jocelyn
Schreier, Bethany Schreier, Jessica
Schreier, Zachary Schreier, Carly
Schreier, Maayan Rose, Arava Rose.
Mrs. Schreier was the beloved wife
of the late Aaron Schreier; loving sister
of the late Esty Kotsky.
