deterrent at the 6th annual
Walk of Ages held May 18
on the Eugene & Marcia Applebaum
Jewish Community Campus in West
Bloomfield. More than 350 friends,
families and local celebrities "walked
the Walk" in teams and with children
and pets.
Grand Marshal Dick Purtan met
and greeted the walkers, and the
JN's Danny Raskin, longtime sup-
porter and grand marshal emeritus,
greeted everyone and walked the
entire route as well.
The children in attendance
enjoyed seeing SpongeBob and Dora
and had their faces painted and
played carnival games.
Seen shmoozing before and after
the Walk were the Judges Marc
Barron, Susan Moiseev and Edward
Sosnick. Local media personalities
included Rick Luterman, who fielded
weather questions, Cheryl Chodun,
"Big Al" Muskovitz and Murray Gula.
Walk of Ages chairman was
Rochelle Elson.
The event is sponsored by the
Auxiliary for Jewish Home &
Aging Services. Proceeds benefit
older adults living at Fleischman
Residence/Blumberg Plaza and in
the Metro Detroit community.
