All American Guys
University of Michigan offensive linemen
Justin Boren and Adam Kraus were
named to Jewish Sports Review's 2007
College Football All-America Team.
Boren, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound sophomore
from Pickering, Ohio, left U-M last month
because of a dispute with new coach Rich
Rodriguez. Kraus, a senior, was a three-year
starter at guard for the Wolverines. He's a 6-
6, 296-pounder from New Orleans.
Four baseball players from Michigan
colleges are listed in Jewish Sports
Review's spring sports edition. The group
includes U-M sophomore pitchers Eric
Katzman (Harrington Park, N.J.) and
Sam Yashinsky (Farmington Hills), and
Kalamazoo College sophomore pitchers
Ben Minkoff (Madison, Wis.) and Ben
Schroeder (Livonia).
Yashinsky, who earned 12 varsity let-
ters in baseball, basketball and golf at
the Frankel Jewish Academy in West
Bloomfield, made the U-M baseball team as
a walk-on last year and was named to the
Academic All-Big Ten Team.
Minkoff was one of Kalamazoo's top
pitchers through the Hornets' first 15
games this spring. He had a 1-0 record
and a microscopic 0.77 ERA in 11 2/3
innings of work. Schroeder was 1-2 with
a 6.43 ERA, but he had fanned 15 in 21
innings.
