and I shop:' he said. "This year, there
were kids tossing around plastic frogs,
throwing white Styrofoam balls for
hail and wearing masks with pictures
of wild beasts:'
Around the seder table was a
swarm of teal-covered heads from
kippot specially purchased for the
seder.
During the
"Brown-Lusky
seder;' guests appro-
priately read from
the Brown-Lusky
Haggadah, created several years ago
for Helen and Fred's wedding anniver-
sary by their son, Dr. Martin Brown of
Franklin.
"The custom Haggadahs I produced
for my family's huge seder was actu-
ally the second edition:' said Brown,
who made additional copies for the
larger seder last year.
For the original version, he said, "I
spent numerous hours cutting and
pasting from multiple Haggadah ver-
sions to come up with a complete
traditional Hagaddah, excluding noth-
ing, but adding family photos and

additional family songs that we have
enjoyed over the years. To make the
seder go smoothly, I also added nota-
tions in various prayers, such as the
Hallel, indicating where we sing!'
Last year, he said, "After laying out
the original, the production of 100
copies for our giant extended family
seder required many hours stand-
ing at multiple copy
machines, then folding,
collating, stapling and
trimming all of the
books. I took special
personal effort to ensure that the
Haggadahs would be truly appreciated
by the entire extended family. It was
truly a labor of love'

A Fitting Tribute
"The tradition of our family seder
started with my grandparents, (the
late) Bubbie Dottie and (the late)
Zaydie Abe Rod Brown said of
Dorothy and Abraham Lusky. "The
seder has always been a tribute to
them. Last year, there were speeches
in their honor. I remember being
packed into their home in Oak Park
