CHARLES FRIEDMAN, 95, of
Southfield, died March 21, 2008.
He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Eugene and
Vivian Friedman of Southfield,
Gilbert and Helene Friedman of
Farmington Hills; daughter and son-
in-law, Elaine and Mark Lavetter of
Southfield; brother, Louis Friedman
of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.; grandchil-
dren, Amy and Josh Lavetter-Keidan,
Shawn Lavetter, Michael and Rotem
Lavetter-Dror, Stacey Reed, Darryl
and Tori Friedman, Neal Friedman;
great-grandchildren, Emma,
Shoshana, Benjamin, Ashley, Tea,
Madison, Mallory, Jennifer, Jeffrey,
Nathaniel.
Mr. Friedman was the beloved
husband of the late Cecelia
Friedman; dear brother of the late
Jerry Friedman.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
Machpelah Cemetery. Arrangements
by Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

IRVING B. GOFSTEIN, 75, of West
Bloomfield, died March 23, 2008.
He is survived by his son, Howard
Gofstein of Warren; daughter and
son-in-law, Cheryl and Gene Spektor
of West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Scott and Claire Spektor.
Mr. Gofstein was the beloved
husband of the late Sharon Gofstein;
brother of the late Ruth Goldstein
and the late Jason Gofstein.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to

Dorfman Chapel.

LEROY HELFMAN, 87, formerly of
Bloomfield Hills of Thousand Oaks,
Calif., died March 8, 2008.
He was a builder and land devel-
oper in Michigan, Ohio and Florida.
He graduated Wayne State University
and was the captain of a ship in the
U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Helfman is survived by his
beloved wife of 38 years, Linda; her
children, Brenda Bernhard and Lisa
and Douglas Schwab of California;
children from his first wife: son,
Ivan of Waterford; daughter and
son-in-law, Joan and Bill Strigles of
Boston; six grandchildren; sister,
Sylvia Shacket of Birmingham. He
was the husband of the late Norma
Glassman; father of the late Robert.
Interment at Congo Mountain,
Beth Shalom in Camerillo, Calif.
