Un-Shelved: An Altered Books Exhibition
Books creatively recycled into works of art.
A community project of the BBAC, the Bloomfield
Township Public Library and graduate students
from the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

FASHION WITH A KICK The latest clothing designs mix with some innova-

tive dance steps during the annual style show planned by students attending West
Bloomfield High School. This year's program, The Roots of Fashion, begins
7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in the school's auditorium on Orchard Lake Road. Teens
enrolled in fashion merchandising and dance classes work with local merchants to
find what they consider sensational spring outfits and take charge of the model-
ing, staging, merchandising, publicity, promotion, choreography, hospitality, pho-
tography and music. Proceeds from the $6 tickets benefit the school's Children's
Fund, fashion and dance programs, and prom activities. Cooperating merchants
include Aeropostale, Bella Bridal, Cache, Cache Luxe, Dunham's, Eleganza,
Essence, Funky 7, Guys 'N Gals, Laker Landing, Levi's, Lolly Ella, Luxe, Men's
Wearhouse, Moosejaw, Mr. Alan's, Nahla's Place, National Dry Goods, Nicole
Miller, Oliver's Trendz, Rear Ends, Revive, Stewart's Menswear, Strike A Pose,
This Is Me and TWC. (248) 865-6730.
