He graduated from Northern Illinois
College of Optometry in 1939 and was
a fellow of the American Academy of
Optometry, member of the Michigan
and American
Optometric
Association, founder
of the Optometric
Institute and Clinic
of Detroit and past
president, Wayne
County Society of
Honeyman
Optometry. He prac-
ticed optometry in
Detroit and Birmingham from 1940
to 1981, specializing in low vision and
children's visual perceptual difficul-
ties.
He was a talented bridge player and
golfer, who continued to enjoy both
activities in his retirement in Sarasota.
He was also an avid reader and a
lover of classical music. More than
anything, however, he loved being sur-
rounded by his family, who meant the
world to him.
Mr. Honeyman is survived by
his dear wife of 61 years, Hannah
(Fineman); sister, Betty German
of Los Angeles; children, John and
daughter-in-law, Deborah Zukin of
West Bloomfield, Robert of Miami
Beach, Fla., Vicki of Ann Arbor, Peter
of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Jonah
(Chani), Jeffrey, Julia, Rebecca, Emily,
Nora, Rachel, Maggie; great-grandchil-
dren, Ari and Esti.

memorial gathering will be Sunday,
Jan. 20, 2 p.m. at the home of John

NATHAN LANDGARTEN, former
Detroiter of Los Angeles, Calif, died
Jan. 4, 2008.
He is survived by his wife of 65
years, Helen; daughter, Aleda; son,
Stuart; brother, Louis; sister, Marian
Guttman; many nieces, nephews, sur-
rogate children, grandchildren and
endearing friends.
Services were held at Mount Sinai
Memorial Parks and Mortuaries in
Hollywood Hills, Calif.

PETRA F. NETZORG, 84, of
Southfield, died Jan.1, 2008. An anti-
quarian bookseller, she owned an
antiquarian bookstore.
Mrs. Netzorg is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, David Netzorg
and Valerie Smith of Detroit; daugh-
ter, Susan Netzorg Halas of Maui,
Hawaii; granddaughter, Rebecca Halas
Johnson.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Morton J. Netzorg; cherished sister of
the late Bracha Fuld.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
