He graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1939 and was a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, member of the Michigan and American Optometric Association, founder of the Optometric Institute and Clinic of Detroit and past president, Wayne County Society of Honeyman Optometry. He prac- ticed optometry in Detroit and Birmingham from 1940 to 1981, specializing in low vision and children's visual perceptual difficul- ties. He was a talented bridge player and golfer, who continued to enjoy both activities in his retirement in Sarasota. He was also an avid reader and a lover of classical music. More than anything, however, he loved being sur- rounded by his family, who meant the world to him. Mr. Honeyman is survived by his dear wife of 61 years, Hannah (Fineman); sister, Betty German of Los Angeles; children, John and daughter-in-law, Deborah Zukin of West Bloomfield, Robert of Miami Beach, Fla., Vicki of Ann Arbor, Peter of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Jonah (Chani), Jeffrey, Julia, Rebecca, Emily, Nora, Rachel, Maggie; great-grandchil- dren, Ari and Esti.
