by the men's locker rooms.
The project, overseen by Honeywell,
is updating JPM's water, electrical, and
heating and cooling systems and will
continue through May. JPM was built
in the 1950s and the project is being
funded by the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Magidson said JPM is getting new
energy-efficient lighting and shut-off
sensors, automatic faucets, a seven-
zone heating and cooling system with
more controls for individual rooms
and new boilers. The east (main)
entrance was widened to reduce the
exchange of air when the doors open.
Honeywell reportedly has guaran-
teed the energy savings generated by
the project.
