BERNARD JAFFE, 91, of
Hollywood, Fla., died Sept. 12,
2007.
He earned a Ph.D. in education
and was a school administrator and
college professor. He was also an
officer and member of B'nai B'rith
for 45 years.
He served on the Young
Democrat Political Committee,
was director of Central Region-
United Synagogue Youth, owner
and director of Jewish Education
Summer Encampments and youth
director of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek in Southfield and Adat
Shalom Synagogue in Farmington
Hills.
His many personal awards on
his retirement included ones from
President Gerald Ford and Gov.
William G. Miliken.
He and his late wife, Lois, were
recipients of the Israel Scroll of
Honor.
Bernard Jaffe is survived by
sons and daughters-in-law,
Michael and Ellen Jaffe of West
Bloomfield, Dr. Richard and Ellen
Jaffe of Jerusalem, Israel; grand-
children, Jeffrey and Michelle
Jaffe, Dana Jaffe, Ryan and
Hallie Jaffe, Aharon and Atarah
Jaffe, Sarah and Amos Avraham,
Deenah and Shalom Misk, Hindah
and Yinon Lajos; great-grandchil-
dren, Matthew, Allyson, Benjamin,
Avigayil, Noa, Hadas, Achiyad,
Ido, Elron, Uri, Ronitzion, Mayan,
Naomi, Uryad, Elyah, Chagai and
Talza; sister-in-law, Marcelyn
Pearlman of Florida.
He was the beloved and devoted
husband for 66 years of the late
Lois Jaffe; and loving brother of
the late Lillian Bloom, the late
Helen Kerbis, the late Edward
Jaffe, the late Norman Jaffe and
the late Jacob Jaffe. He was the
son of the late Julius and the late
Sadie Jaffe.
