WILLIAM BENJAMIN CAPLAN, 93,
of San Francisco, died Sept. 29, 2007.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Belle Caplan; daughters and son-in-
law, Susan Roseman of Novi, Joan and
Jack Simon of Los Altos Hills, Calif.,
Helen Goldberg of Oakland, Calif.;
brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and
Nicki Caplan of California; sister,

RICHARD J. CONROY, 57, of
Commerce Twp., died Sept. 28, 2007.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Elaine Conroy; sons, Ryan Conroy

Conroy of Livonia, William Conroy
of Canton; many other loving family
members and friends.
He was the son of the late Richard

DR. BERNARD GITLIN, 69, of West
Bloomfield, died Sept. 25, 2007.

nephews, other family members and
friends.

SYLVIA GOODE, 95, of Southfield,
died Sept. 27, 2007.
She was a life member of Hadassah,
a member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, Women's American ORT and
the National Council of Jewish Women.
Mrs. Goode is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and
Dr. Paul Lichter of Ann Arbor; son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Martin and Rise
Goode of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Laurie and Haran Rashes, Susan
Lichter, Tracy and Rod Loewenthal,
Jodi Goode, Laurence Rosenthal,
Lesley and Lorne Burnett, Stacey
Rosenthal, Sean Rosenthal; great-
grandchildren, Max, Ilana and Annie
Rashes, Greta and Esther Loewenthal,
Halle and Mackenzie Burnett; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Raymond and
Barbara Robins; nieces and nephews.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Dr. Jack Goode; devoted daughter of
the late Louis and the late Ida Robins;
loving sister of the late Sally Jaffe, the
late Marian Lebowitz; dear sister-in-
law of the late Jacob Jaffe and the late
Max Lebowitz.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

BARBARA ANN HAYMAN, 70, of
Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., former-
ly of Southfield, died Sept. 26, 2007.
She was a retired schoolteacher from
Southfield High School and had taught
12 years as a religious school teacher at
Temple Emanu-El in Oak Park.
Mrs. Hayman is survived by her
husband of 47 years, Leslie; daughters,
Sharon (Robert) Katz of Glencoe, Ill.,
Karen (Robert) Kleinberg of Tustin,
Calif.; grandchildren, Daniel and
Zachary Kleinberg and Jonathan and
Hayley Katz; sister and brother-in-law,
Morleen and Jack Rouse of Cincinnati,
Ohio.
