ETHEL STECKELIS,
of Belleville, Wis.,
formerly of Detroit, died
Aug. 23, 2007, after a
brief stay at the Don
and Marilyn Anderson
Hospice Center in
Madison,
Wis.
Steckelis
She was born on April
7, 1911, the daughter
of Maurice and Selma Manason. She
graduated from what is now Wayne State
University with a degree in elementary
education.
Mrs. Steckelis served in the United
States military as a member of the
Women's Army Corps during World War
II; it was there she met her future hus-
band, William Steckelis. They were mar-
ried in Italy and honeymooned on the Isle
of Capri. They were the parents of one son,
Michael Steckelis of Belleville, Wis.
Mrs. Steckelis was a longtime resident
of Detroit and was a Detroit public school
teacher. She resided for the past seven
years at Coventry Village in Middleton, Wis.
Mrs. Steckelis is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lois
Steckelis of Wisconsin; grandchildren,
Mikaela and Alexandra Steckelis; niece,

Aileen Gelman of Royal Oak; Myones and
Valdes families in New York; the Manason
families in California; the Gelman and
Ceresnie families in Michigan.
She was the beloved wife of the late
William Steckelis; sister of the late Don
and the late Aaron Manason, the late Molly
Manason, the late Dorothy and the late Bill
Gelman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a char-

Mrs. Togal was the beloved wife of the
late Saul Togal; devoted daughter of the
late Molly and the late Abraham Knoppow;
loving sister and sister-in-law of the late
Elaine and the late Marty Rothenberg.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

DONALD B. TRAUTE, 79, of Oak Park,
died Aug. 22, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Glorya
Traute; son, Kevin Traute of Oak Park;
daughter and son-in-law, Nicki and Peter
Azoff of Sudbury, Mass.; grandchildren,
Kevie Traute, Max Azoff, Gavrielle Azoff.
Mr. Traute was the loving father of the
late Sharon Traute.

RUTH WINGER, 93, of West
Bloomfield, died Aug. 21, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Hedy
Dermer of Boca Raton, Fla.; son and
daughter-in-law, David Winger and
Maxine Luck of Woodland Hills, Calif.;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and
Myra Jacobs of West Bloomfield, Aaron
and Irene Jacobs of Florida; grandchildren,
Eric Dermer, Michael Winger and Michelle
(Aaron) Koniak.
She was the beloved wife of the late
George Winger; sister of the late William
Jacobs and the late Mildred Friedman.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may be
