Denker. Noa is named in loving memory
of her great-grandfather Newell Horwitz
and in honor of the life, love and work of
Drew's pediatrician, medical mentor and
friend Paul Eglick.

Koby Berman will cel-
ebrate his bar mitzvah
at the Birmingham
Temple on Friday, Aug.
31. He is the son of
Ifilaj Sharon Milberger and
Bob Berman and brother
of Andy. Sharing in the

simchah will be loving
grandmother Barbara
Milberger. He is also the grandchild of the
late Moniek Milberger, the late Randall
and the late Marcelle Berman.
Koby is an eighth-grader at Detroit
Country Day School in Beverly Hills. As
part of his mitzvah project, he is working
to raise awareness about the genocide in
Darfur and donating money to several
Darfur-related charities.

Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Sept.1, at

Bloomfield. His proud

Daniel will be an eighth-grader in the
fall of 2007 at Orchard Lake Middle School
in West Bloomfield. As preparation as a bar
mitzvah, he volunteered for two years at
the annual Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.

mitzvah on Saturday,
Sept. 1, at Congregation
Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield. He is the
son of Julie and Edward
Hersch
Hersch and the brother
of Emily and Rachel.
He is the grandson of Betty Hersch and
Rosalind Siegel. He is also the grandson
of the late Martin Hersch and the late
Norman Siegel, and the great-grandson of
the late Ben Solomon.
Michael is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. His most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect was working with JARC residents.

Gabriel Joseph

as a bar mitzvah at
Congregation Beth
Shalom in Oak Park
on Saturday, Sept. 1. He
is the son of Lori and
Hessenthaler
Darren Hessenthaler
and the older brother
of Emily and Noah. Gabriel is also the
grandson of Diane and Sander Eisenberg,
Harriet Hessenthaler and the late David
Hessenthaler.
Gabe is a student at Norup International
School in Oak Park. His most memorable
mitzvah project was volunteering with his
grandparents at Yad Ezra's food bank in
Berkley.

Fiszman-Kirsch and Ari Kirsch. Proud
grandparents are Bertha Fiszman of San
Pedro Sula, Honduras, and Sheila Kirsch of

Josie is an eighth-grader at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield.
Her most meaningful mitzvah project was
helping to clean, paint and refurbish the
Boys and Girls Club of Flint.

Bloomfield-based Friendship Circle's
Miracle Baseball League and Day Camp.

be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept. 1, at Congregation Beth
Emeth in Herndon. Sharing in the sim-
chah will be her parents, Rhonda and Marc
Linovitz, and her brother Brian. Proud
grandparents are Shelia and Michael
Levine of Oak Park. Julie is also the grand-
daughter of the late Max Linovitz and the
late Inez Tolan Linovitz.
Julie attends Rachel Carson Middle
School in Herndon. Her mitzvah project
involved taking care of a neighbor with
cancer and her handicapped cats.
