NORMAN SUKENIC, 91, of Oak Park,
died July 25,2007.
He was born in Detroit, the young-
est of nine children of Jacob and Dora
Sukenic. As a youth, he worked at Sosin's
Confectionary for his sister Minnie
and brother-in-law Nathan Sosin. After
graduating from Northern High School, he
worked for his brother Morris in a lum-
beryard.
In 1940, he married Nettie Kaner and
they had three children. He was then
drafted into the Army and spent two years
in the Pacific Front.
Returning to Detroit, Mr. Sukenic and
his brother Sam formed a partnership
and began Ken Building Co. They built
thousands of homes and office buildings
throughout Metropolitan Detroit. They
retired in 1974.
Mr. Sukenic was a founding member
and past president of Young Israel of
Northwest Detroit. Throughout his life,
he contributed greatly to the Jewish com-
munity. He volunteered for Meals on
Wheels, Yad Ezra and Beth Tefilo Emanuel
Cemetery until he was 86.
He is survived by his son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Alan and Shelley Sukenic of

HAROLD WARHEIT, 86, of West
Bloomfield, died July 28, 2007.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Rosalie Warheit; sons and daughters-
in-law, David and Christine Warheit of
Wilmington, Del., Neil Warheit of Los
Angeles, Michael and Barbara Warheit of
Barrington, Ill.; sister, Katherine "Kitty"
Ravitz of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; broth-
er-in-law, Dr. Gabriel (Simone) Whiteman;
grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica)
Chastain, Benjamin, Alexander, Samuel
and Julia Warheit; great-granddaughter,
Emma; many other loving family mem-
bers and friends.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

West Bloomfield; daughters and sons-in-
law, Judy and Howard Koss of Waterford,
Dee-Dee and Aaron Berman of Oak Park;
brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Ann
Sukenic of West Bloomfield; sister, Rose
Sukenic of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Mark Schiff, Brian and Mathilde
Schiff, Scott Schiff, Craig and Debby
Sukenic, Joshua and Marci Sukenic, Estie
and Rabbi Ruvy Kantor, Leah and Rabbi
Shlomie Newman, Rabbi Yaakov and
Shoshi Berman, Rabbi Eliyahu and Tzippy
Berman, Chaya and Mochi Shain; 14
great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Edith
Butrimovitz, Jean Kaner; numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Mr. Sukenic was the beloved husband
for 66 years of the late Nettie Sukenic; dear
brother of the late Minnie Sosin, the late
Lee Sukenic, the late Rose Sukenic, the late
Fanny Sukenlc, the late Morris Sukenic,
the late Ben Sukenic, the late Vivian Fealk;
loving brother-in-law of the late Nathan
Butrimovitz, the late Sam Kaner.
Contributions may be made to Yeshiva
Beth Yehudah or a charity of one's
choice. Interment at Beth Tefilo Emanuel
Cemetery. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

LAWRENCE WIENER, 81, formerly of
Farmington Hills, of Plano, Texas, died
July 28, 2007.
He owned and operated Larry's Men's
Wear in St. Clair Shores for 30 years. He
also did tailoring for customers and other
businesses.
Mr. Wiener is survived by his lov-
ing wife, Ruth; devoted children, Karen

Winkler of Plano, Mark Wiener of Arizona;
adoring grandchildren, Ashley and
Steven Winkler of Frisco, Texas, Debbie
Winkler of Dallas, Jeff Winkler of Studio
City, Calif.; precious great-grandchildren,
Nolan, Tate, and Victoria Winkler; brother
and sister-in-law, Alan and Olga Wiener of
California, Dr. Roslyn Wiener of California.

RABBI SHERWIN WINE, 79, of
Birmingham, died July 21, 2007. He was
the founder of Humanistic Judaism and
founder of Birmingham Temple.
Rabbi Wine is survived by his life
partner, Richard McMains; sister and
brother-in-law, Lorraine and Ben Pivnick;
nieces and nephews, Elyse Pivnick and Dr.
Norman Glickman, Dr. Billie Pivnick and
Jay Cohen; great-nieces and great-neph-
ews, Madelaine and Katy Glickman, Isaac
and Noah Cohen.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.
