Aish Rabbi's Homecoming
A former Huntington Woods resident has
returned as a three-month summer intern
at Huntington Woods-based Aish in the
Woods.
Rabbi Mordechai McKenney was a
yeshivah student in Jerusalem for the past
four years. There, he met his wife, Tova, a
seminary student. Tova, formerly of Iran
and Los Angeles, is a graphic designer.
McKenny grew up in Huntington
Woods and majored in music education
at Butler University in Indianapolis. He
taught orchestra in Waterford schools
before reconnecting to his Judaism.
Aish in the Woods' director Rabbi
Simcha Tolwin is pleased that McKenney
is on board. "Our focus since coming to
the Woods has been to create Jewish expe-
riences for families," said Tolwin.
"We are creating family events, classes
that address family needs and programs
that connect parents and children. Rabbi
Rabbi Mordechai and Tova McKenney
McKenney's experience will greatly
enhance our activities. He is a musician,
he is trained to work with kids, he is out-
going bright and embracing."
For information on Aish in the Woods
family events, call (248) 948-9908 or visit
the Web site, www.aishinthewoods.com.
