THE BEST OF EVERYTHING

'Round The World, 'Round The Corner

Cruising the area's authentic and exotic ethnic delicacies.

OTPOURRI
Every so often in past years, it
seemed like ethnic dining would
continually take some sort of jump in pop-
ularity ... But seldom, if ever, like today as
the educated palates of diners-out enjoy
and appreciate fine ethnic cuisine.
Italian, Chinese and Greek continue to
lead as favorites, followed in hot pursuit by
Russian (Fiddler for blinis with red caviar,
etc.), Hungarian (Hungarian Rhapsody for
goulash, etc.), French (Cuisine for fresh
turbot, etc., and French Gourmet for bay
scallops poached in vermouth, etc.).
Japanese (Samurai for steak house
on one side, sushi bar and tables on
the other), Nepali (Everest Express and
Kathmandu for Chicken Chow Chow,
etc.), Irish (Gus O'Connors for Irish stew,
etc.)
Mexican (Ole Ole for fajitas or rattle-
snake burritos, etc.), Israeli (Yossi's for
falafel in canola oil, or shawarma, etc.)
... among so many other fine ethnic res-
taurants ... Reasons given are the major
upswings that have been occurring in
travel, reading and other practices.
MOST PEOPLE look upon it as a place
specializing in barbecued ribs, broasted
and barbecued chicken, etc., which it is ...
And the third biggest seller is the barbe-
cued lamb ribs ... But the biggest sleepers
at Boneyard Bar-B-Q, Orchard Lake Road,
south of 14 Mile, Farmington Hills, are the
14-ounce broiled fresh whitefish, $9.75;
and 12-ounce grilled bar-b-q salmon fil-
let, $11.95 ... Both are good buys, deliv-
ered fresh every other day, and prepared
Boneyard's way or as desired.
