New JAS Board President Larry
Tisdale accepts the gavel from Past
President Cheryl Guyer.

JAS Marks Anniversary
Jewish Apartments & Services recently
marked its 40th anniversary.
At its annual meeting, JAS honored
the founding families who helped
build the agency. Members of the
Coville, Hechtman, Meer, Mondry,
Prentis and Teitel families accepted
a special gift from residents of the

building that bears their family name.
Residents shared why living at JAS has
been special to them.
Larry Tisdale was installed as
president of JAS. Vice presidents are
Susie Harold, Nancy Siegel Heinrich,
Jon Podolsky and Steven Weinstock.
Treasurer is Harold Etkin; assistant
treasurer is Eli A. Scherr. Rabbi E.B.
"Bunny" Freedman became secretary;
Nancy Simpson was appointed assis-
tant secretary. New board members
are Rabbi Yehuda Burnham and Dr.
Barbara Kappy.
The administrator of the Coville
Assisted Living Program, Suzy Mulka,
was given the Sandra and Alfred I.
Sherman Award for outstanding ser-
vice.
Geriatric Resource Coordinator Lori
Deshalla won the Employee Excellence
in Caring and Achievement Award.
