A breathtaking fashion show featuring models strutting their stuff atop
dinner tables captivated close to 1,000 guests at the Karmanos Cancer
Institute's 25th Annual Dinner. More than 70 models wearing fashions
from Milan, Paris, New York — and the closet of fashion maven
Linda Dresner of Birmingham — appeared out of nowhere on the
massive tables, which doubled as a runway at the Rock Financial
ROBIN SCHWARTZ,
Showplace in Novi. "It was a huge surprise for most people," said
COLUMNIST
Dresner, an 11-year breast-cancer survivor who received life-saving treat-
ment at Karmanos and planned the May 19 event. "It was a great joy, a very creative moment
for me, and also an opportunity to give back."
The event raised nearly $1 million for cancer prevention, treatment and early detection.
