ArtsFest Attracts Teens
Lilly Koscik of Commerce Township is one of six teens who will attend the JCC
Maccabi ArtsFest in Deal, N.J., Aug. 12-17 with the support of the Woolf-Cohen
Dance Heritage Fund of the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit.
Lilly, 15, will be studying dance at ArtsFest with teens from the
U.S., Canada, Israel and Russia.
Lilly will study dance with Elizabeth Johnson, choreogra-
pher, dancer and the director of the Teen Exchange Program
of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange of Washington, D.C. Other
teens will study theater, radio broadcasting, band (rock & jazz),
orchestra, visual-digital art and creative writing.
The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest is in its second year and is an
additional experience offered to Jewish teens 13-18. Modeled
Lilly Koscik
after the JCC Maccabi Games, this new experience has broad-
ened the Maccabi program to more teens.
The Woolf-Cohen Dance Heritage Fund also has given generous support this
year to Celebrating the Arts for ArtsFest and ongoing support to the Festival
Dancers. Proceeds from Celebrating the Arts has provided partial scholarships to
other teens going to ArtsFest.
For more information on sending your teen to JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, contact
Patty Ceresnie, Metro Detroit delegation head, (248) 661-1756, or online at www.
jccmaccabiartsfest.org . Registration closes June 22.

Show Off Your Home?

What You Get for the Money is a 30-minute television show that airs on both
the HGTV (Home and Garden television) and Fine Living networks. Their cam-
eras are coming to Detroit in July, looking for outgoing homeowners and design
enthusiasts to share their homes and their stories.
The homes need to be stylishly designed with a contemporary flair, similar
to what might be in magazines such as Dwell or Metropolitan Home, and the
value of the homes needs to be within the range of $350,000 to $1.2 million.
Each episode of What You Get for the Money includes background infor-
mation about the featured city, community, lifestyle and housing costs.
If interested, please send a few digital photos and the current value of the
home in an e-mail to Erin Woodard at EWoodard@highnoonentertainment.com
with "Detroit Casting Call" in the subject header, or call (303) 712-3095. Entries
must be received by June 25.
