Alex is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. Among his many meaningful
mitzvah projects, his favorite was par-
ticipating at Farmington Hills-based
JARC.

Michelle attends Walnut Creek
Middle School in Walled Lake. One
of her mitzvah projects was helping
Temple Kol Ami Religious School
move to its current location.

are Phyllis and Lenny Horwitz, Anne
and Harvey Beaver, Harvey Stein and
the late Alice Stein. Her great-grand-
mother is Doris Harris; her late great-
grandfather is Sam Harris.
Mara is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. One of her most meaningful
mitzvah projects is volunteering at the
Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield.

History Award To Be Given
The Jewish Historical Society of
Michigan will honor Sharon Alterman
with the 2007 Leonard N. Simons
History Award June 3.
Alterman, director of the Leonard
N. Simons Jewish Community Archive
since its founding in 1991, has helped
bring many events and historical
exhibits to Michigan Jews.
The annual meeting will be at
10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 3, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue, 29901 Middlebelt,
Farmington Hills. The speaker will be
Paul Ganson, historian of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra. His talk is titled
"Saving Orchestra Hall: From Wrecking
Ball to World-Class Music Venue."
The meeting is open to the public. A
luncheon, at $35 per person, will fol-

Bonds To Honor Doctors
Drs. Barry Feldman and Sanford
Vieder will receive the 2007
Maimonides Award from the Metro
Detroit Professional Health Services
Division of State of Israel Bonds. A
dinner will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday,
June 27, at Adat Shalom Synagogue,
29901 Middlebelt, Farmington Hills.
Tribute co-chair-

speaker will be Dr.
Gal Luft, a former
lieutenant colonel in
the Israel Defense
Sanford Vieder Forces and an expert
on geopolitics, ter-

Feldman is

Group and vice
Barry Feldman president of the
Providence Hospital
Physician Organization. Vieder is the
medical staff president and vice chair-
man of the Department of Emergency
Medicine at Botsford Hospital in
Farmington Hills. He is the owner and
medical director of Lakes Urgent Care.
