Dr. Lipson was a life member of
the American Veterinary Medicine
Association, a member of the
Association of Wildlife Veterinarians
and the Foothills Forum. Known as
"Doc" to many of his friends he was
an avid hunter and fisherman. He
loved nature, the outdoors, hiking,
bird watching, boating and camp-
ing. He also enjoyed opera, theater,
reading and travel, especially travel
to wildlife habitats in Africa, Alaska
and the Arctic.
He completed two books before
his death: What's the Story, Doc?
is a memoir of his life as a veteri-
narian during the time that small
animal practice was just getting
started; the other book, to be pub-
lished shortly, is a children's book
titled Two Arizona Blackbirds.
Dr. Lipson is survived by his wife,
Dr. Marilyn Heins; children, Ashley
Lipson, Robert Lipson (Shirley),
Rachel Glick (Gary), and Jonathan
Lipson; grandchildren Philip
(Mild), Bryan, Adam Lipson and
Hannah and Jeremy Glick.
Graveside services were held
at Hebrew Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made
to a charity of one's choice.

Memorial Chapel.

PHYLLIS MADGY, 76, of West
Bloomfield, died April 26, 2007.
She was a social worker with a
master's degree and a therapist.
Mrs. Madgy is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Elyse
and Steve Caiello of Los Angeles,
Barbara and Sheldon Cohn of West
Bloomfield; son and daughter-in-
law, Dr. David and Lezlie Madgy of
Franklin; grandchildren, Victoria
and Anthony Friedman, Danielle,
Devin and Dylon Madgy, Jonathan
and Jeremy Cohn, Madison and
Alexa Bernstein; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, William and
Eleanor Wolf, Sylvia Madgy, Janet
and Dr. Milton Elford, Mollye
Berman.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Max Madgy; loving sister of the
late Evelyne Wolf; dear sister-in-law
of the late Dr. Milton Madgy and
the late Marvin Madgy.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made
to the Phyllis Madgy Fund at
Kadima. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
