SUZANNE "SUE" EILENE
ILLINGWORTH, 82, of Redford
Township, died April 25, 2007.

A rehabilitation teacher for the
blind for the state of Michigan, Mrs.
Illingworth was a graduate of Ohio State
with a bachelor of science in education.
She was also a member of the American
Council of the Blind, Michigan Council of
the Blind and Visually Impaired, Detroit
Northwest Chapter and the Plymouth
Lions Club.
Mrs. Illingworth is survived by her
husband, George Illingworth of Redford
Township; brother and sisters-in-law,
Eugene and Jackie Sirak, Beatrice Sirak;
nieces and nephews, Gail and Ron
Ernstein, Marcus and Marcia Sirak and
Gary and Linda Sirak; great-nieces and
great-nephews, Jeff and Lindsay Sirak,
Jennifer and Doug Holt. She was the
beloved sister of the late Stanford Sirak.
A private interment was held.

HENRY "HANK"
LEFKOWITZ, 83,
of Beachwood, Ohio,
died April 21, 2007. He
was born in Cleveland
and graduated from
Cleveland Heights
High School. He led the
Lefkowitz
school's 1941 basketball
team to a Lake Erie
League championship and earned All-
Lake Erie League honors.
Mr. Lefkowitz played with the Cleveland
Rebels professional basketball team in
their only season 60 years ago; he had
starred for Western Reserve University. At

Western Reserve, Mr. Lefkowitz, a 6—foot-3
forward, averaged 21 points a game his
senior year.
He had left college after his sophomore
year and joined the Army Air Force dur-
ing World War II. As a navigator on a B-24
Liberator, he flew 37 bombing missions
over Germany and Austria. He attained the
rank of lieutenant and received two battle
stars: an Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters
and a Presidential Unit Citation Medal.
After service, he returned to Western
Reserve and was named All Big Four and
All Mid-American Conference. He graduat-
ed with a business administration degree.
Mr. Lefkowitz was an owner and the
president of the Dover Construction Co., in
Cleveland and Chicago. He had moved to
Chicago for five years in the 1960s to run
operations there. He returned to Cleveland
in 1968 and worked in the industry with
Forest City Enterprises.
In later years, he was a real estate agent
for Adler Braun Realty and Craig Lang Inc.
in addition to having several personal real
estate partnerships. He retired in 2003. He
was inducted into the Case Western Reserve
University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990.
Mr. Lefkowitz was a 40-year member of
Fairmount Temple in Beachwood.
He is survived by his sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Andrew and Issa Lefkowitz of
University Heights, Ohio, James Lefkowitz
of Beverly Hills, Calif.; daughter and
son-in-law, Nancy and Sam Shamie of
Bloomfield hills; eight grandchildren. He
was the loving husband for 47 years of the
late Joan Lefkowitz.

LOUIS LIPSITZ, 90,
of Bloomfield Hills, died
April 24, 2007.
He attended Wayne
State University and was
a respected business
owner.

Hills, Greg Pollak of Southfield; daughter
and son-in-law, Nancy and Paul Precour
of West Bloomfield; sister, Tillie Panush
of Southfield; grandchildren, Howard

Weingarden, Jamie Pollak, Andrew Pollak;
great-grandchildren, Julia, Ally, Noah and
Emilie; nieces and nephews, Dr. Elissa and
Richard Benedek, Margo and Perry Cohen,
Naomi Salus and their families, Ruth and
Dr. Edward Lerchin, Miriam and Bob
Shapiro, Eleanor and Rabbi Daniel Fogel
and their families; many other family
members and friends.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Marilyn Lipsitz; brother of the late Rose
(the late Hertzl) Shur; brother-in-law of
the late Louis Panush and the late Henry
Selker; uncle of the late Judy Michaelson.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a charity
of one's choice. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.
