David Krakauer 's
Klezmer Madness
SATURDAY, MARCH 31, 8 PM
Rackham Auditorium
This isn't your grandmother's klezmer! Clarinetist
David Krakauer and his band blend Eastern
European klezmer with rock beats and guitar riffs to
produce a truly unique sound that keeps the music
out of the museum and in the 21st century.
Media Partner Detroit Jewish News.
Rackham Auditorium
Founded in Israel in 1993, this young quartet
displayed a liveliness and spontaneity during their
UMS debut in April of 2005 that led to immediate
requests for a return appearance. For this
performance, the ensemble will perform works by
Hayden and Tchaikovsky, as well as Samuel Barber's
Quartet for Strings, from which his famous "Adagio
for Strings" was later arranged.
