old hues of purple, red, Orange,
green and yellow jumped off the
catwalk at the Townsend Hotel in
Birmingham during the annual "Tender at
the Townsend" fashion show/fundraiser to
benefit ORT. Models carried metallic purses
in silver and gold and wore sky-high heels,
including one sparkling pair embellished
with mirrors.
The Feb. 2 show also featured full skirts,
cowboy boots and a barely-there bikini.
More than 250 women attended the brunch
and fashion show, which raised $60,000
for ORT's global network of schools and
programs.
"It's our best year yet:' said Sharon
Eisenshtadt of Bloomfield Hills. She
co-chaired the event along with Susan
August, also of Bloomfield Hills.

"We're helping educate 300,000 students
around the world. Education empowers
people for life," Eisenshtadt said.
The event, now in its fifth year, was start-
ed by ORT Michigan's young adult com-
mittee to raise money and awareness. The
trendy Birmingham boutique Tender once
again provided the fashions. The Somerset
Collection in Troy and-Style the maga-
zine, part of Southfield-based Renaissance
Media, were this year's corporate sponsors.
"We started the fashion show three
years ago and ifs grown each year," said
brunch adviser Nicole Kovacs of West
Bloomfield.
"It's nice to see so many new names
and new faces;' added Marlo Scott of
Birmingham, another brunch adviser.
"It was a beautiful show:' said Enid
