to "pop." Concentration and focus on
breathing are important, too.
Gonte demonstrates swings, wind-
mills, push presses that move the
kettlebell around the body, squats and
arm raises. Everything is smooth and
precise. Feet are flat on the ground.
The exertion is obvious. Gonte, who is
quite buff already, begins sweating and

Women's Center Opens
At Huron Valley Sinai

Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (HVSH)
has expanded its women's services
with a new emphasis on compre-
hensive care, the latest technology
and health education in a single set-
ting with the opening of the Sinai
Center for Women this week. The new
outpatient facility is adjacent to the
Charach Cancer Treatment Center, in
Commerce Township.
The Sinai Center for Women
expands diagnostic capabilities for
breast health, including digital mam-
mography and minimally invasive
breast biopsy. It has convenient mam-
mography (both screening and diag-
nostic) and ultrasound available.
A unique feature is onsite radiolo-
gists to provide rapid initial interpre-
tation of test results for patients. In
many cases, a patient whose mam-
mogram is questionable can have an
immediate follow-up ultrasound.
"While the initial focus will be
mainly breast health, the Sinai Center
for Women will be an innovative
multi-disciplinary resource for com-
prehensive women's health care," said

breathing heavily pretty quickly.
"Kettlebells improve coordina-
tion and provide excellent core
exercises," he says. "People are sick
of boxing. They like core training
like yoga rather than killing an
hour on cardio. Kettlebells work
every muscle group in one exercise
very quickly.
"This is the wave of the future,
and it will grow as people have less
and less time."
In addition to personal train-
ing in more traditional methods,
Gonte also trains people to use
kettleballs in their homes or at
the Powerhouse Gym in West
Bloomfield. His classes have not
more than eight students so he can
pay attention to individual form.
He also sells kettlebells and pro-
vides 30 minutes of free instruc-
tion to those who buy the equip-
ment from him.
Gonte grew up in Southfield, was a
communications major at Michigan
State University and worked in sales
and new construction real estate
before turning to the fitness business.
"With the economy so bad," he said,
"I turned something I love to do into a
career!"
