become bat mitzvah at Birmingham
Temple on Friday, Nov. 10. She is the
daughter of Ilene and Marc Hirsch
and sister of Michael. Her grandpar-

Melvin Hirsch.
Sydney is

Berkshire Middle
School in Beverly
Hills. Her mitzvah project has been to
assist in teaching second-graders at the
temple Sunday school.

Joshua Mitchell Kaufman, son of
Shari (Ferber) and Alon Kaufman, will
be called to the Torah on the occasion
of his bar mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 11, at
the Shul in West Bloomfield. Joshua's

Joshua is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit. His
commitments include being a part
of the many West Bloomfield-based
Friendship Circles' volunteer program.

Hannah Sophie Kopinsky will read
from the Torah as she celebrates her
bat mitzvah at

Saturday, Nov. 11.
She is the daugh-
ter of Debbie
Kopinsky and
Joel Kopinsky
and the sister of
Kopinsky
Michael. Sharing
in the simchah will be her proud
grandn-iother Aida Greenspan. Hannah
is also the granddaughter of the late
Noah Greenspan, the late Samuel and
the late Masie Kopinsky.
Hannah is a student at James R.
Geisler Middle School in Walled Lake.
Her most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect involved organizing a luncheon
with her friends to make blankets to
Oakland County children experiencing
abuse or neglect.

Justin Matthew Lapides, son of Ken
and Rochelle Lapides, will be called to
the Torah as he celebrates his bar mitz-

El. He is the grandson of the late Jack
