'Dad's Journey

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Michigan will present Esther
Aliweiss Ingber, the daughter of a HolocAust survivor, sharing stories
and video she-took of her father's first visit to Poland since 1945.
"Dad's Journey" to the Poland of his youth will take place 1-3 p.m.
Sunday, Nov.19, at the Farmington Hills Library, 12 Mile, between
Orchard Lake and Farmington roads.
Zygie Aliweiss, 79, and his late brother, Sol, were the sole survivors
of nine children. As teenagers, the brothers escaped from a Nazi
Germany forced-labor camp on the day of its liquidation in 1943 and
were sheltered by a Polish Catholic family for more than a year.
In September, Esther and Zygie were hosted by a son of the couple
Esther Ingber
that saved him.
Along with showing the video, Ingber will share genealogical discoveries.
Members, free; guests, $5 suggested donation. (248) 449-6899.
