My dad — like I'm sure almost every other dad in
Michigan — understands that being a parent is a
struggle sometimes, and it can even be the
toughest job in the world. But for him being our
dad is the best and most irnportant job in the
world. He supports us in our hopes and dreams,
and he always there for us in our struggles and
disappointments .

A husband who cares

Dad is a loving husband. He and my mom have
been married for 27 years. The way he cares for my
example for my
mom has always been a strong
brothers, sista and me.

The everyday ways he shows his love and affec
for her is a wonderful lesson for us kids.
Their relationship is an ideal that I hope I'm as
lucky to find one day

A leader for others

Dad has always taught us to give back to our
community. He believes deeply in public service.

something done for other people.

Dad is a man of great faith. Even people who don't

politics will tell you that he's got a good heart.
Rapids was really struggling, he became a leader in the fight to turn the city's
economy around and bring jobs to our community. That's a part of my dad
that most people don't see, because he doesn't like to talk about himself a lot
(but I am more than happy to do it for him)!
